Located 2 miles south of Westerham in Kent, the gardens and woodland at Chartwell cover 82 acres.  Bought by Sir Winston Churchill for its magnificent views over the Weald of Kent, Chartwell was his home and the place from which he drew inspiration from 1924 until the end of his life.  The hillside gardens at Chartwell reflect Churchill’s love of the landscape and nature.  They include the lakes, ponds and swimming pool he created, Lady Churchill’s Rose Garden and the Golden Rose Avenue, a Butterfly House, Croquet Lawn, a new Winter Border and the marvelous walled Kitchen Garden.
